Vie Healing’s Vybra Collection Brings Vibration And Magnet Therapy To Luxury Retailers And High-End Spas

Vie Healing, the traditional Chinese medicine brand that helped popularize ear seeds, has introduced a collection of magnetic vibration therapy tools it calls Vybra.

The sleek and stylish silicone tools—Enoki, Shroom and Fig—have 10 massage settings and are designed for trigger point therapy, lymphatic drainage, enhanced blood circulation, relaxation and intimate play. Along with vibration, they facilitate the TCM practice of magnet therapy, which entails small magnets being placed on specific acupressure points to deepen the therapeutic benefits of the vibration. Each $128 Vybra kit comes with a tool, a set of 10 reusable body magnets and stickers to affix the magnets in place.

Vie Healing founder Mona Dan says the tools have been in the works for over a year. She’s incorporated vibration therapy for over a decade in the treatment room. At her 1,000-square foot West Hollywood location V/Rituals, Dan says, “We use vibration therapy on acupuncture points. If somebody is really deficient, for example, or even has too much energy, we do vibration therapy on their acupuncture points first, and then we needle them and the treatment goes to the next level.”

Vie Healing’s treatments incorporate magnets, now available in the Vybra collection as a way for people to take the treatment home with them, too. “We would put the magnets on the points as a to-go treatment, especially kids or the elderly or people who are really weak, just to get their body to keep circulating,” says Dan. “It plays off the same concept as the ear seeds, but the magnets are a lot bigger.”

The three tools each address different issues that are hinted at by the devices’s names. Fig, for example, takes its name from a fruit renowned for its digestive benefits. Dan explains, “The Fig line is primarily for brain and gut connection and brain health and gut health together, but it’s also the perfect tool for personal play and pleasure because of the shape.”

Beyond retail, Vie Healing’s Vybra collection provides spa partners an opportunity to add acupuncture-like therapy to their service menus without the liability of needle work. The brand sells its ear seeds at the Fairmont Spa, Mauna Lani Auberge Resorts and select Mirbeau Inn & Spas. In addition, it’s done ear seeds trainings at Loews Miami, Gravity Haus and The Beverly Hills Hotel.

“They’ve been wanting to incorporate traditional Chinese medicine. I had to be really creative in how I could bring it without anything invasive,” says Dan. “This is a completely new category. It just doesn’t exist. It’s merging vibration therapy and magnetic therapy on acupressure points in a super luxurious way.”

Vie Healing’s 24K Gold Ear Seeds are the brand’s bestsellers. They’re sold at upscale spas and Neiman Marcus. Dan launched bootstrapped brand Vie Healing over a decade ago with $10,000 from her savings. When she opened Vie’s V/Rituals location, she put $200,000 into its buildout, as previously reported in Beauty Independent.

Dan will soon be looking to raise funds for Vie Healing’s expansion. Acupuncture studio WTHN recently raised $5 million from L Catterton, but Dan’s not worried about there not being enough capital to go around, especially since Vie Healing has been a pioneer in the acupuncture arena.

“I created the category,” she says. “There were no branded systems for Chinese medicine that were luxury or respected, and that was my mission. I’m glad it’s picking up. I’m glad people are interested. I’m glad there’s money being thrown at it. The world is big. There’s room for all of us.”
